This module is an introduction to Healthcare for learners seeking to pursue a career in this area and progress to QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support Award. It is ideally suited to individuals with experience in Healthcare but without any formal qualifications, or individuals who have been out of education for some time. This module teaches the learner about the fundamentals of caring, including the role of the carer, fundamentals of diet in caring, communicating with patients, and respectful care of patients and their families.

14 weeks Tuesday 6.30-9.30pm Tuesday evenings

Entry Criteria

Junior Certificate or equivalent. If learners do not have Junior Certificate or equivalent, they will have to do an assessment.

Individuals should be employed full time, part time or self-employed.
