Engineering Technology (5M2061)

Location: Tullamore Further Education and Training Centre

 

This one year pre-engineering course aims to give students a wide range of experience within the engineering sectors and prepare students for entry into third level education, apprenticeships and direct entry into the workplace.

Modules include*:

  • Engineering Workshop Processes
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Personal Effectiveness
  • Work Experience
  • Computer Aided Draughting (2D)
  • Engineering Workshop Theory
  • Mathematics
  • Material Science

Progression Options:

On successful completion of this programme, students can apply to Athlone Institute of Technology for entry to the Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Renewable Energy. Students can also apply to other third level institutions under the Higher Education Links Scheme or as a mature student.

 

Fees: All fees must be paid prior to commencement of the course

  • 200 PLC Government Levy (some exemptions apply)
  • 200 Centre Registration Fee
  • 50 QQI Certification Fee (some exemptions apply)
