Youth Employability Initiative

Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB) is inviting applications from community, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations who can demonstrate a track record of working with the target group, to deliver a programme in 2019 for young people aged 16-24 (focus on 16-18) years who are not currently in employment, education or training.

LOETB can identify particular cohorts of this target group in the following towns and catchment areas and it is a condition of funding that successful applicants engage with LOETB in the targeting of programme participants.

The specific aim of this initiative is to help young people to attain a level of confidence and agency to engage in available programmes or services, with a view to developing their personal and social competencies and ultimately preparing them for onward progression in their employment lives. The Initiative is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs through the Dormant Accounts Fund. The maximum grant payable to any one project is €50,000.
